Capturing dreamy Santorini in graphic form

February 12, 2019

A vector version

The Greek island of Santorini leaves quite an impression – those white buildings in the brilliant sunshine, blue church domed roofs, all the curves and archways of the old architecture. And then there are the cliffs that they all hang on to, with the islands floating in the sea outlining the ancient caldera.
There is something very centering and alluring about a place that was truly made for people, the curved walks and stairs that lead to private residences, balconies, cafes, and unknown destinations.
Once home from the trip we took in February of 2019, I kept thinking about all those places and decided to create an imaginary setting reflecting the essence of Santorini, but in a flat colored vector version. This is what I landed on.

Coming from Seattle, it is amazing to know there are places that I cannot explore without wearing sunglasses. But it is true. Aspects of my artwork can be found in photos below, taken on the trip.
