For the past 15 years, I have created the main festival artwork for the World Rhythm Festival, a yearly event sponsored by Seattle World Percussion Society.

The artwork is meant to capture the excitement of participating in percussion events. They include classes, performances, and more informal happenings such as drum circles. It is all free, and includes a wide range of styles of drumming, percussion, and dancing from so many traditions – Brazilian, Cuban, West African, Indian, and more.

These images are carefully designed and created to work on both a white and a black background. Marketing materials are on a white background, and the design is screen-printed on black t-shirts. Therefore choosing the three colors is super important for its success.
